He's been dubbed "America's Best Unknown Songwriter", he's the subject of an award winning documentary film, he's been nominated for Grammy Awards in an unprecedented 8 categories. He's Roger Salloom and after a multi-decade long hiatus, he's resurfaced with a new outlook and a collection of new material that will more than substantiate the claims. "He's been away from the record business since the 1960's but was very open to the idea of molding his return around the new technologies and challenges of the industry," manager Danny McCloskey said. "We're putting the record together one single at a time and working them to multiple formats, and the number of young upcoming musicians that want to work with Roger is astounding." The first single, a McCartney-esque love ditty called "La Te Da" features the beautiful voice of Eilen Jewell, a rising star in the roots music world along with the venerable Charles Neville who wrote and performs the horn parts. The result is a pure "rootsy pop" dream with outstanding lyrics and equally impressive performances from all the players involved. The song will launch to radio for a Valentine's Day impact. Already picking up interest at radio and igniting a firestorm of requests at Allentown Roots Station WXLV. A video is due at the end of February.
